Original 70 page carbon typescript for a three-act comedy stage play written by Buster Keaton and Lew Lipton. This is Lew Lipton's own copy and came from his archive. At the time of this play Lew Lipton was head of the MGM comedy department, and he co-wrote the MGM Buster Keaton silent films The Cameraman' (1928) and Spite Marriage' (1929). The play takes place at a glamorous gambling club in Palm Springs, where a group of everyday people are confined because of a torrential desert downpour, with the resulting closeness bringing out the good, the bad, and the funny in everyone. Later, Lipton rewrote this play on his own crediting the story to Buster Keaton and calling it Lambs Can Gamble, It was produced in 1946 with tryouts in Philadelphia and New Haven, but was unsuccessful and did not continue on to Broadway. Very rare.
