Brand-new, still in sealed plastic, mounted on matte-board, neither shelf- nor edge-worn, neither sunned nor marked as a remainder, a print that measures 11" x 8 3/4" tall and wide, respectively. Straight from the artist herself, Betty LaDuke (nee Bernstein), a many-decades-long artist-activist from New York originally and also mother to Winona LaDuke, the inspiring Native American activist and '96 Vice Presidential candidate with Ralph Nader. Ms LaDuke says of her art: "Alone in my Oregon studio the world rushes in and I have a compelling need to give form to the local and global events reshaping our lives. They are Climate Change, the Pandemic, Border Crossings, and Social Justice." This item was presented recently in Corvallis, Oregon a the exhibit, "Fire, Fury and Resilience: Totem Witnesses and Turtle Wisdom." The past two years' conflicts and hardships owing to civil strife, smoke, fires, global warming, racism and Covid-19 have been rough on everyone, but it takes an artist thread those themes together meaningfully. The print is from a series of vibrantly colored (painted) wooden panels that depict anger at but also resilience against global warming, violence on school campuses, conspiracy thinking as regards emergent viruses, and persistent, systemic racism.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
