Terence MacSwiney (1879-1920), the nationalist Lord Mayor of Cork, died in Brixton Prison as a political prisoner on the 74th day of a hunger strike. This is the Third Printing of the First Edition. Green cloth binding with gilt lettering and a Celtic harp design on the front board. Clean text; 245 pages; previous-owner name, in Irish, on an endpaper. This is a Good only copy: the spine has darkened with age; there is a crease on the front board; the front gutter has separated and the webbing is exposed. Please note the condition issues. Although quite presentable otherwise, with a bright, clean text, Quercus Books offers this as a binding copy, in need of repair or restoration.
