New York & London: Funk & Wagnalls Company, 1927. James Benedict Ossory Fitzpatrick (1881-1964) was an Anglo-Irish historian resident in America who expounded interesting theories regarding the Celtic gifts to the world (not to say he was incorrect). His other book on Ireland was "Ireland and the Making of Britain" (1921). An uncommon book, particularly in Jacket. This is a Fine copy of the First Edition. Bright green cloth binding. Ruled on the front cover; gilt titling and decoration on the spine. Clean text; 451 pages; indexed; with fold-out map. There is a previous-owner signature (1933) on the FFEP. The scarce dustjacket is Very Good or a bit better. Unclipped, it shows some light chipping at the margins of the spine, which has darkened. In an archival plastic protector. First Edition. Hard Cover. Fine/Very Good. 8vo - over 7" - 9" tall. Dust jacket present. First Edition.
