Original card game, Flinch, in a dark red cardboard box with one lid. Black lettering on lid. Lid can be placed on one of the open sides of the sleeve to make a card holder. No date, circa 1900s-1910s. Box and 152 cards, complete. 150 playing cards. Two additional cards included, a title card for Flinch and a card advertising another game by the Flinch Card Co., Roodles. Each card shows a number between "1" and "15"; there are ten of these fifteen-card series in this Flinch deck. Red and white pattern on back of cards. Box measures 2 1/2" x 3 3/4." Cards measure 2 1/4" x 3 1/2." Box and cards are clean and intact overall. Box sustains the most wear with all-around edge wear and some rubbing and surface chipping. Box has some tape repair. Cards are moderately soiled and darkened but still intact and playable. A Very Good copy. Flinch is a card game in which players try to get rid of their ten-card "Flinch pile" by stockpiling and playing cards in their hand on other piles. The game is designed for two to eight players, but more players can join by adding another Flinch deck. Flinch was invented in 1901 by A. J. Patterson. He founded the Flinch Card Company in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
