It is inscribed by the author to Dwight Pelkin, a former sports editor for the Sheboygan Press, on the first blank. He then apparently gave this book to Frank M. Gabel, a president of Blatz Brewing Co. , who then gave the book to Ed Braughton. A gift inscription, dated 10/18/43, on the front fly leaf states: "E. Broughton - A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of driving through Sheboygan Marsh Park - your name on the entrance brought back happy memories of our first meeting at the Blatz picnic, several years ago. I hope this finds you well, Sincerely, Frank M. Gabel. " The book has mild bumping and wear to to the corners and spine extremeties. Several short tears to spine heel cloth. Hinge cracked after copyright page. Light surface rubbing. Page fore-edges are lightly soiled. DJ has 1" losses to the spine extremeties. Chipping, tears and surface soiling. The DJ is age-darkened, particularly the spine. Preserved in a brodart. ; 23B; 409 pages
