(price-clipped) [ just a touch of wear to the spine ends, otherwise a nice clean book (green cloth with no lettering on spine, paper label on front cover; see second scanned image with this listing); the dust jacket is moderately age-toned (more so along the spine), and has a bit of paper loss at the top of the spine, a couple of teeny-tiny nicks at bottom edge of the front panel]. (color drawings) "Anything may happen on Easter." The price-clipping makes it difficult to establish an exact date for this printing, but the Walck imprint (the publisher being identified on the front as "Successor to Oxford Books for Boys and Girls") dates it as no earlier than 1958, which is when Henry Z. Walck purchased the Oxford University Press's juvenile department and established his own eponymous firm. At any rate, it's a fairly faithful replication of the original edition, even to the point of only listing, on the rear jacket flap, the three books that Tudor had published prior to the first edition of "A Tale for Easter." (The copyright page bears only the 1941 copyright date, but attributed to Henry Z. Walck, Inc., rather than to Oxford University Press, as in earlier printings.)
